Apicoectomy – a surgical procedure through which the apex of the tooth root is removed, together with the pathological process (cyst or granulation tissue) when conservative preservation of the tooth is not possible.
Bone augmentation or bone graft where the bone is missing is a standard surgical technique in implantology for small bone defects, in which barrier membranes and bone grafts are used; it is performed a few months before implants are placed, in order to create conditions for the placement.
Gingivoplasty is an oral surgical procedure through which the visible part of gingiva is reduced and dental crowns are lengthened.
Hemisection is performed when only one root of a tooth is lost, while the remaining roots continue to hold the tooth and can later be used for prosthetic rehabilitation.
Sinus lift is a technique through which the floor of the sinus is lifted upward and bone substitute is applied, thus creating conditions for placing implants a few months later.
Dental implant placement
Dental implant is a titanium screw which is placed in the jawbone, acting as a replacement root for the missing tooth, on top of which an artificial tooth can be attached.
