Breast augmentation
Breast augmentation is one of the most popular interventions in aesthetic surgery and it is a common procedure at our clinic. The problem of small or relatively sagging breasts is solved by implant placement. An adequate choice of implants will bring you perfect breasts.
We use Allergan implants of various shapes and sizes, depending on the patient’s wishes and the doctor’s assessment after examination. Depending on the quality of the skin and subcutaneous tissue, as well as on the implants selected, the implants are placed under the muscle or under the muscle fascia.
There are three basic breast augmentation procedures:
transaxillary (through the armpit region)
periareolar (through the edge of the areola), and
inframammary incision (in the crease under your breast).
The surgical procedure takes 45 to 90 minutes. If the implants are placed under the muscle fascia, there is no pain afterwards, only a slight pressure on the chest which lasts for three days. Arms can be moved normally. If the implants are placed under the muscle, the pain will be present for 7 days. For the first 15 days you can raise your arms to shoulder height, while after this period you can raise your arms above your shoulders. You should not lift anything heavy for a month.
Surgical incisions are made under the breast, at the nipple level, in the armpit, or through the navel (endoscopically). Implants can be round-shaped (low, mid and high-profile) with cohesive silicone gel I and II and biodimensional (anatomical, with a high, medium and long neck, low, mid and high-profile) with highly cohesive silicone gel III of saline breast implants. We use two types of implants, namely Polytech and Mentor ones. The patient, in consultation with the doctor, decides which ones will be used. The surgical procedure is performed under general anaesthesia and the patient is required to spend one day at the clinic afterwards.
