Autologous conditioned plasma

Autologous conditioned plasma (ACP) is a thrombocyte concentrate and a growth factor from your own blood. Increased levels of growth factors improve the communication and activation of cells on the place of injury and they optimize the environment for easier healing. The process is also known as “Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)” – plasma rich with thrombocytes, that is used to cure injuries.

ACP is considered to be a PRP (platelet rich in plasma) medicine and it is used for chronic degenerative changes in the tendon (Achilles tendon, tennis elbow, etc.), acute ligament injuries, muscular injuries (rupture stretching), intra operative stimulation of healing, regeneration of superficial cartilage damage.

What is the procedure for ACP?
The doctor takes a small blood sample from your hand with a needle using a specially constructed syringe. The blood then goes through the procedure, which by rapid rotation separates and concentrates platelets and growth factors, and then it is applied to the place of injury. The overall ACP procedure usually lasts less than 20 min.
